COVID-19 vaccine now being administered at Rice Stadium

Covid Vaccine Line

Members of the Rice community were among the first to receive COVID-19 vaccinations at Rice Stadium last week. The historic stadium is serving the entire Houston area as a community vaccination site.

The facility, whose clinic is run by Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, conducted a “soft opening” by administering vaccines to high-risk individuals including Rice faculty, staff and students in the 1A and 1B categories for distribution.

Members of the community who qualify for the current distribution phases — which now include 1C, making anybody over 50 years old eligible — and are interested in receiving the vaccine must fill out an online form to be placed on the waitlist for future appointments. (Video by Brandon Martin)
