Baker College senior Magdah Omer, a bioengineering major and medical humanities minor, debuted their first solo art exhibition Oct. 15 at Sleepy Cyborg, the student art gallery formerly known as Matchbox. The opening reception for “be water, my friend” featured empanadas and passionfruit lemonade in the Sewall Hall courtyard and a festive crowd undeterred by a brief downpour. Omer’s work in acrylic paint and photography explores fluidity and identity, and is on display through Oct. 24.
