Ryan Udell, a senior mechanical engineering major, has received honorable mention in the 2020 Distinguished Undergraduate Awards presented by the Universities Space Research Association (USRA). He was selected from 126 applicants from 61 universities by a review panel consisting of faculty at USRA member institutions. Udell is president of the Rice chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, which is working to launch the Rice-designed OwlSat into orbit in 2022.
