Jesse Chan, an assistant professor of computational and applied mathematics, and Ashok Veeraraghavan, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and of computer science, are among 85 early-career engineers from academia, industry and government selected to take part in the National Academy of Engineering’s 26th annual U.S. Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, now planned for Feb. 25-27, 2021, in Irvine, California. The symposium’s aim is to develop creative engineering solutions to the world’s problems. Topics to be discussed are agriculture, energy, women’s health and plastics.
