Former U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn and former secretary of energy Ernest Moniz will discuss the state of global security related to nuclear and biological threats in a Dec. 7 webinar hosted by Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.

Nunn, co-founder and co-chair of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), and Moniz, co-chair and CEO of NTI, will explore current threats, the role of emerging technologies, and how policymakers can address vulnerabilities and counter the development of nuclear and biological weapons.

The discussion will be moderated by Neal Lane, senior fellow in science and technology policy at the Baker Institute, former science adviser to President Bill Clinton and former director of the National Science Foundation. Edward Djerejian, director of the Baker Institute whose career in the U.S. Foreign Service spanned the administrations of eight presidents, will provide welcoming remarks.
