President David Leebron and University Representative Y. Ping Sun were honored during the Virtual KIPP 2020 Houston Luncheon Program for their leadership, passion and commitment to education. A tree will be planted in their honor at a KIPP Houston campus.
Leebron, a member of the KIPP Houston Board of Trustees and former member of the KIPP Foundation’s national board of directors, joined KIPP and Rice alumna Krystine Meyer Taylor to discuss education during the COVID-19 pandemic, from the academic to social experience. KIPP public charter schools are a nonprofit network of college-preparatory schools educating early childhood, elementary, middle and high school students.
