Here’s how for high schoolers

Mentorship program

The Rice University Mentorship Project, an undergraduate club that helps high schoolers with their college applications, welcomed 150 students from Davis, Reagan, Sam Houston, Wheatley and Yates high schools, all part of the Houston Independent School District, to campus for a two-day workshop in October. The program, in its fourth year, also sends Rice students to the schools to help high schoolers fill out college applications, strategize on essays and apply for financial aid. Above, Nicholas Brown, a graduate student at the Shepherd School of Music, talks with students during a session at Duncan Hall’s McMurtry Auditorium.
