Gov. Rick Perry at Rice Wednesday to address Emerging Energy Technology Conference

Texas Gov. Rick Perry will give the keynote address for the Emerging Energy Technology Conference at 2 p.m. July 28 in the Shell Auditorium at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business. He will discuss how state and local government impacts the energy landscape.

Panelists at the July 27-28 conference include some of the brightest minds in academia and in the domestic oil and gas industry. The panelists will address a broad range of technologies, including the latest advances that are driving the surge of unconventional natural gas supplies in the U.S. The conference will also highlight recent advances in chemistry, well monitoring, computer software, seismic technology, hydraulic fracturing, CO2 injection and corrosion detection, treatment and prevention. On Tuesday, M. A. (Pete) Miller, Jr., chairman of the board, president and CEO of National Oilwell Varco Inc., will deliver the noon luncheon address, “The Impact of Emerging Technologies on the Future Viability of America’s Oil and Gas Industry.”

On Wednesday, Chad Deaton, chairman, president, and CEO of Baker Hughes, will deliver the noon luncheon address, “The Role of Emerging Technologies in Developing America’s Unconventional Gas Resources.”
