Waste not, want not at the Moody Center

The Center for Energy and Environmental Research in the Human Sciences (CENHS) at Rice held the second of its waste-related symposia for the 2018-19 Rice Seminar, “Wastes: Histories and Futures,” Feb. 1 at the Moody Center for the Arts. “Waste: Now + Next” assembled an all-day lineup of speakers on the topic of discard studies and concluded with a roundtable discussion led by Dominic Boyer, CENHS founding director and Rice professor of anthropology; Cymene Howe, Rice associate professor of anthropology; Joe Campana, the Alan Dugald McKillop Chair and associate professor of English; and anthropology Ph.D. student Melanie Ford.
