Women in Leadership Conference to be held at Rice’s Jones School Feb. 9

HOUSTON – (Jan. 23, 2018) – Local women business and thought leaders will gather at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business Feb. 9 for the annual Women in Leadership Conference. The theme of this year’s conference is “Deliberate Leadership: Forging Your Path With Purpose.”

Panel themes will include “Building Your Empire,” “Difficult Discussions: Preparation. Initiation. Discussion. Conclusion,” “Power in Philanthropy: Making an Impact Outside an Office,” “C-Suite,” “The Modern Balancing Act,” “Brand You: Create Your Destiny” and “Dynamic Management: Leading Multigenerational Teams of Men and Women.”

What: 18th annual Women in Leadership Conference on “Deliberate Leadership: Forging Your Path With Purpose.”

Who: Keynote speakers Donna Cole, president and CEO of Cole Chemical and Distributing Inc.; Yan “Anthea” Zhang, the Fayez Sarofim Vanguard Professor of Management at the Jones School; and Tracye McDaniel, founder and CEO of McDaniel Strategic Ecosystems.  

When: 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9. (Breakfast and registration begin at 7.)

Where: Rice University, various locations within McNair Hall, 6100 Main St. A lunch with Zhang’s and McDaniel’s keynotes will be held in Baker Hall’s Doré Commons. Parking is available in the West Lot. For directions, see www.rice.edu/maps.shtml.

The conference is organized by a committee of MBA women leaders from the Rice chapter of National Association of Women MBAs.
