Master of Global Affairs introduces inaugural class

Former U.S. Senator and Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Wyche Fowler spoke to members of the inaugural class of the Master of Global Affairs (MGA) program in Rice’s School of Social Sciences during an orientation session Aug. 22. Twenty-three students are enrolled in the program, which offers graduate students professional education that requires high standards of scholarship and offers practical training for global affairs careers in government, the private sector and international organizations. Mark Jones, a professor of political science, the Joseph D. Jamail Chair in Latin American Studies and a fellow at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, serves as faculty director for the program.
