Graduate Owls enjoy barbecue at president’s house

Rice University President David Leebron and University Representative Y. Ping Sun welcomed the new graduate students to their home Aug. 21 to sample the Lone Star State’s favorite food, barbecue! Leebron and Sun host the annual event to get to know the newcomers to Rice. New graduate students also participated a variety of other activities during the week, including various breakout sessions, laboratory safety training, a cookout at Valhalla and the Graduate Student Association Activities Fair.
