A short film on which Assistant University Photographer Jeff Fitlow was director of photography will be featured in an upcoming film festival. “Bellows and Buttons,” a profile of Houston’s Gabbanelli Accordions, will be among the films screened Nov. 12 at 6:45 p.m. at Sundance Cinemas, 510 Texas Ave.

The Rice University Education and Entrepreneurship Program (REEP), managed by Rice’s Jones Graduate School of Business, was announced as one of the three finalists for this year’s MBA Roundtable Innovator Award at the MBA Roundtable annual symposium Nov. 8. The MBA Roundtable is a global association of business schools working to promote MBA curricular and programmatic innovation. The winner will be announced in January.

Diana Strassmann will chair the board of directors of Wiki Education Foundation, a nonprofit incorporated earlier this year as part of the ongoing efforts of the Wikipedia Education Program. Through the Wikipedia Education Program, educators in more than 60 countries are assigning their students to contribute to Wikipedia as part of their coursework. The Wiki Education Foundation will direct the education program’s efforts throughout the U.S. and Canada. Strassmann is the Carolyn and Fred McManis Distinguished Professor in the Practice of the Humanities, founding editor of the journal Feminist Economics and director of Rice’s Program on Poverty, Justice and Human Capabilities based in the Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality.
