Rice organizations to prepare for Pride Month with coffee break May 29

June is LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning) Pride Month. To promote awareness of issues facing the LGBTQ community, Rice University’s Graduate Student Association, Rice Queers and Allies (Q&A) and the Rice Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association (GALA) will host a coffee break from 3 to 5 p.m. May 29 in the GSA Lounge in the basement of the Rice Memorial Center. The event is free and open to the Rice community.

During the event, coffee and light refreshments will be served, and guests will learn how to support the LGBTQ community on campus. The groups will also accept donations for the official Rice Pride float for this year’s Houston LGBT Price Celebration parade June 29. For more information on the parade, visit www.pridehouston.org/event/festival-and-parade.
