The George R. Brown Forensics Society represents Rice University in intellectual competition at speech and debate tournaments across the nation. Housed in the School of Humanities, the society has engaged Rice students in speech and debate competition for more than 40 years and challenged them against not only the best and brightest from other universities but also against the best they themselves can be. Along the way, the students learn lessons in achieving excellence through execution and build a skill set that has proven value in every walk of life.
While producing the debate team story, Rice video journalist Brandon Martin asked the team to provide helpful tips for public speaking. Watch the video below for the team’s tips.
