Moshe Vardi, the Karen Ostrum George Distinguished Service Professor of Computational Engineering and director of the Ken Kennedy Institute for Information Technology, will be honored with the 2013 Distinguished Scientist Award from the Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA). The award is given annually to a researcher whose “extraordinary work fulfills the SURA mission of fostering excellence in scientific research.” Vardi will receive the SURA award, which includes a $10,000 honorarium, at the group’s board of trustees meeting in April.
