Owl fans treated to pep rally; Owl Club hosts pregame party

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl sponsored an evening pep rally at the Flying Saucer in downtown Fort Worth Friday night. The Marching Owl Band (MOB), cheerleaders and Sammy the Owl entertained fans of Rice and Air Force. The Falcons’ band and cheer team also performed at the outdoor event.

Shortly afterward, Rice Athletics’ Owl Club hosted a pregame party a few blocks away at the Fox & the Hound, where Rice President David Leebron and Rice trustees joined 400 alumni and fans.

The Owls football team has a 6:45 wakeup call Saturday morning for breakfast; then the team will head over to Amon G. Carter stadium on the campus of Texas Christian University for the 10:45 a.m. game kickoff. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
