BioTour to visit Rice

The Center for the Study of the Environment and Society (CSES) is hosting a visit from BioTour, a traveling environmental educational program transported in a vegetable-powered school bus, March 17.

At noon, the CSES will host a lunch presentation in Farnsworth Pavilion, Rice Memorial Center. BioTour will give a short presentation about the bus, the sustainability movement and their travels. The lunch is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. RSVP to cses@rice.edu to attend.

BioTour representatives will be available outside the RMC to give tours of the bus and discuss the program from 1 to 3 p.m. A demonstration of the vegetable oil conversion unit that powers the bus will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.

CSES will host a seminar on peak oil, renewable energy options and climate change in Sammy’s from 3 to 4 p.m. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
