Clean Energy Accelerator startups to pitch investors and community on Demo Day

Class 1 Startups

HOUSTON – (Sept. 13, 2021) – A dozen startups will pitch their clean energy technologies to investors and industry leaders this week as a virtual Demo Day concludes the inaugural class of the Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator.

The first application season for the accelerator drew interest from a wide array of startups across the nation and around the globe, a testament to Houston’s growing role in the energy transition. The startups chosen to pitch during the Demo Day are 3E Nano, Arolytics, CoFlow Jet Wind Turbines, Criterion Energy Partners, Hydrodine Cataylics, Kanin Energy, Mote, NASADYA, Power HV, Renewell Energy, SeebeckCell Technologies and Vellex Computing.

The fast-paced event gives the startups a real-time opportunity to showcase their technology, pitch their value propositions and answer questions from the energy and startup community.

What: Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator Virtual Demo Day

When: Thursday, Sept. 16, 1-4 p.m. CST. Pitches begin at 1:30 p.m.

Where: The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Class 1 Startups

The Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator was launched to support emerging, tech-enabled ventures that advance not only decarbonization solutions but also efficiency strategies to accelerate the clean energy transition. With a robust curriculum, customized mentor relationships and targeted corporate and investor introductions, the 12-week program prepares startups to accelerate their businesses, launch pilots and raise funds.

The Accelerator is also part of The Ion's Accelerator Hub (along with The Ion Smart City Accelerator and DivInc's accelerator), which will provide startups a wider network, broader support system and extended reach. Rice Alliance maintains relationships with every major energy corporation in Houston and strong collaborations with energy investors.
