Neal Lane, a senior fellow in science and technology policy at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, has been elected to the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools’ Wall of Fame. Lane, a graduate of Oklahoma City’s Southeast High School, will be inducted Nov. 18 at the foundation’s annual Wall of Fame Humanitarian Awards dinner.

Pulickel Ajayan, Pengcheng Dai, Rui-Rui Du, Sarah Grefe, Randy Hulet, Alex Kutana, Andriy Nevidomskyy, Qimiao Si, Ming Yi and Hanyu Zhu represented Rice at the “New Frontiers in Quantum Materials Research” workshop Oct. 3-4 at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, British Columbia. The meeting is the first of a series that organizers from the Rice Center for Quantum Materials and UBC’s Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute are planning to explore synergistic research opportunities.
