Rice hosts hearty welcomes for newest grad students

Freshmen weren’t the only new Owls flocking to Rice during O-Week. Incoming graduate students were welcomed by President David Leebron and University Representative Y. Ping Sun with a big Texas barbecue at their home Aug. 22. The dinner came in the middle of an orientation week that also included teaching assistant training, lab safety lessons and a Graduate Student Association-sponsored picnic in the Graduate Commons outside Valhalla.
