Richards-Kortum inducted into National Inventors Hall of Fame

Global health pioneer Rebecca Richards-Kortum, a University Professor in the Brown School of Engineering‘s Department of Bioengineering, was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame May 2 for her work to develop medical devices for low-resource settings. Fewer than 600 inventors have been inducted in the hall, and the 19-member 2019 class of inductees included the inventors of fluoride toothpaste, the Unix operating system, the portable electric drill and the first drugs for treating high blood pressure. The 2019 inductees were celebrated at a black-tie gala and induction ceremony at the National Building Museum.
