Trash, but make it fashion

VADA fashion show by Nonie Hilliard
The Visual and Dramatic Arts (VADA) department wrapped up its 56th Annual Student Exhibition with a fashion show in the courtyard of Sewall Hall. Senior exhibitions closed out the evening, which began with a student awards ceremony, undergraduate art show and student film showcase in the Rice Media Center before moving to Sewall Hall, where senior projects from mixed-media installations to large-scale charcoal drawings sprawled across the fourth floor and the Inferno Art Gallery.

The fashion show was the final project of Nonie Hilliard, a Hanszen College senior and VADA major who created both a runway and haute couture out of piles of plastic waste. (Photos by Katharine Shilcutt)
