Romney draws capacity audience at Baker Institute

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney visited Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy Oct. 1 for a public conversation on leadership, public service and the responsibilities that come with both. Romney, who was introduced by former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, the honorary chair and namesake of the institute, also touched on current political issues in his hourlong conversation with Baker Institute Director Edward Djerejian, which drew an audience of nearly 300. Romney was the 2012 Republican nominee for president and was a candidate for the 2008 nomination. He served as governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007, and he is currently running for a U.S. Senate seat in Utah. (Photos by Michael Stravato/Baker Institute)
