William Fulton, director of Rice’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research, is a co-author of the latest edition of the textbook Guide to California Planning, published this month by Solano Press Books.

Ming Yi, assistant professor of physics and astronomy, has won the 2018 Spicer Young Investigator Award by the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in recognition of her foundational superconductor research. The annual award honors a young scientist who has made significant contributions to SLAC’s Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource. Yi will receive the award Sept. 26 at the SSRL annual meeting in Menlo Park, Calif.
