“Julie has been with Rice University for 27 years, leading the work of admission through many years of growth and success,” Vice President for Enrollment Yvonne Romero da Silva said. “Julie is regarded as a leader in the enrollment profession and will be taking this next step in her career ‘on the other side of the desk,’ as we say in the admission profession.”

In a message to staff, Browning wrote, “I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to continue in my chosen profession and to serve students in the college search process.”

Romero da Silva said that in the coming months the Enrollment Division will organize a celebration for Browning “to acknowledge the incredible contributions she has made to the university and to wish her success in her new role at St. John’s.”
