Hanszen College sophomore Joel Abraham and his teammates from Princeton University and University of Texas at Austin will compete in the semifinal round of the 2017-18 Student Startup Madness tournament, a national collegiate competition that recognizes highly technical college startups creating new technologies. Abraham’s three-person team created Everest Capital, an investment platform that works with cryptocurrencies; their submission was selected from more than 200 applications for the competition. Thirty-two college startups made it to the semifinal round, and eight finalists will be selected in late January and invited to pitch at the finals at SXSW in Austin in March.
