New cafe opens at the Moody Center for the Arts

Rice has a new go-to spot for light food and drink. The Moody Center for the Arts opened a cafe Sept. 29. Located on the Moody’s second floor and featuring views of the west side of campus, the cafe is operated by Salento and will be open during the center’s public hours, which are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. During open hours, visitors are also able to use the cafe’s laptop bar with free Wi-Fi and which overlooks the Central Gallery. In keeping with the Moody’s mission to foster encounters with the arts, the space’s walls showcase two colorful acrylic panels by American artist Gordon Terry: “Objects of Infinite Scrutiny, Fetishization and Wonder” and “Anatomy of a Phenomenon.” (Photo by Jeff Fitlow)
