Homecoming 2016

The Rice Owls football team provided a win for their returning alumni and fans on homecoming weekend by beating Prairie View A&M 65-44.

The announced crowd of over 21,000 was treated to Tyler Stehling’s career day. Stehling threw for five touchdowns and caught a sixth while becoming the fourth quarterback in school history to throw for more than 400 yards.

Rice (1-6) won its homecoming game for the 11th time in the past 12 years to improve its all-time mark in homecomings games to 47-47-3.

Homecoming events also included campus tours, open houses, receptions, class reunions and a Class of 1966 Game Day Party at the Wiess President’s House.
