Rice Public Affairs earns CASE awards

Rice’s Office of Public Affairs won six honors at the 2015 CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) District IV Accolades competition.

David Medina, director of multicultural community relations, received a gold award in feature writing for the article “Education as a Human Right.”

Jeff Fitlow, university photography, received two gold awards, one in black-and-white photography for “Fine Light: Student Portrait” and another in color photography for his series “Rice Crew.”

Tommy LaVergne, senior university photographer, received a silver award to in color photography of athletics for “A Leaping Start” and a bronze award in color photography for his series “Bird Calls.”

The spring 2014 issue of Rice Magazine received a silver award in the category of publication and periodicals (magazines.)
