STEMscopes earns national honor

Named to ‘Top 100’ list by magazine for education administrators

STEMscopes, Rice University’s comprehensive online K-12 science curriculum, has been named a “Reader’s Choice Top 100 Product” for 2013 by District Administration magazine.

The Rice program was chosen from more than 1,800 products nominated by K-12 educators across the nation. The honor was announced in the magazine’s December issue.

“The fact that we had a record number of readers participating in this recognition program is a testament to the interest that K-12 leaders have in products for improving educational outcomes and operational efficiencies,” said JD Solomon, District Administration’s editorial director. “All of the honorees in our Top 100 program should be very proud of their achievement.”

STEMscopes, a part of Rice’s Center for Digital Learning and Scholarship, has been declared in 100 percent alignment with the Texas Education Agency’s Proclamation 2014, a set of requirements for instructional materials. The program serves more than a million students in Texas and is in the process of expanding nationally.
