The Office of STEM Engagement recently organized two workshops for more than 100 students from third through12th grades in Houston. These workshops, called NanoAcademy, provided students with an opportunity to participate in STEM lessons designed by experienced teachers who are inspired by the ongoing research at Rice.

During the Research Experience for Teachers (RET) internships, teacher participants worked alongside graduate students and research scientists in innovative research laboratories to create the NanoAcademy lessons. The lessons are designed to provide students with grade-level appropriate activities based on nanotechnology applications that allow them to gain hands-on experience in STEM education.
