Baker Institute’s Abbey inducted into Texas Aviation Hall of Fame

George Abbey, senior fellow in space policy at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and former director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, was inducted to the Lone Star Flight Museum’s Texas Aviation Hall of Fame during a virtual ceremony May 6.

Abbey was joined in the pandemic-delayed Class of 2020 by Rice alumnus Tyson Weihs, the CEO of ForeFlight, a Texas-based software company that revolutionized flight planning and in-flight weather data and was first to bring the concept of an electronic flight bag to the iPad.
