Rice ranked No. 7 in the 2021 ratings of America’s best colleges and No. 4 on the list of the colleges with the best professors in the nation. In Texas, Niche ranked Rice not only as the No. 1 college overall, but also as the best value, most diverse and “hardest to get into” in the state.

“We’re pleased that Rice continues to be recognized not only as providing one of the best college educations in the United States, but also as one of the best values,” said President David Leebron. “Particularly gratifying is the high recognition of our outstanding professors and departments in every school as among the top 10 in the country.”

Rice also ranked as the nation’s No. 1 college for architecture and sports management, as well as the best college for kinesiology and physical therapy.

Niche is a website geared toward college applicants that’s routinely consulted by students and parents. It combines U.S. Department of Education data with millions of reviews from current students, alumni and parents.

“I cannot imagine a better school for me,” wrote one student reviewer identified as a Rice freshman. “Everyone here is so friendly, supportive and welcoming of one another. O-Week is one of the best kept secrets of this school, where you undoubtedly form relationships that will last you the rest of college.”
