Martial arts

Tai chi at the Moody Center for the Arts July 9 2019
In a deviation from its typical programming, the Moody Center for the Arts highlighted the martial arts July 9 as Kai Lewis led an hourlong tai chi session in the Central Gallery. Tai chi was originally conceived as a martial art but is now practiced for health and meditation purposes.

Lewis typically teaches tai chi on campus at the Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center, but this free session was part of the Moody’s summer series on wellness and creativity, which culminates with its final session July 16: yoga in the Central Gallery at noon. (Photos by Jeff Fitlow)
