Super Owls gain big-game experience

Rice sport management students Jen Spell ’22, Asad Lalani ’19, Taylor Scott ’20, Samantha Quen ’20, Johan Fotso ’21, Matthew Sams ’22 and Connor Ayubi ’21, alums Kelsey Mase ’12 and Natalie Kirchhoff ’09, faculty member Tom Stallings and department administrator Kerri Barber had an unforgettable experience working as volunteers for activities leading up to and following Super Bowl LIII.

During their time in Atlanta, the students performed various volunteer roles, including serving as talent escorts and working at charitable events, parties and the annual NFL Honors awards show.

This isn’t the first time Rice sport management students have worked a major sporting event. Students previously worked at Super Bowl LI in Houston, the ESPY Awards and the Final Four, among other events.
