Their concert, slated for 6 p.m., is part of The Conservatory Project, a Kennedy Center initiative that showcases the best young musical talent from the nation’s leading conservatories, colleges and universities.

Shepherd School graduate students Likai He and Emma Powell on violin, Ankit Anil and Rebecca Barnett on viola and Jacob MacKay and Minzo Kim on cello will perform Brahms’ “Sextet No. 1 in B-flat Major, Op. 1.”

“Only six schools were invited to participate this year and we’re pleased to share the stage with the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester,” said Shepherd School Dean Robert Yekovich.

The Shepherd School has been represented on every Conservatory Project initiative since it launched in 2004. After this year’s performance, 115 Shepherd School students will have participated in the Conservatory Project.

Free general admission tickets will be distributed in the States Gallery, inside the Kennedy Center, beginning at approximately 5 p.m. on the day of the concert. There is a limit of two tickets per person.

More details on the performance are available online at http://www.kennedy-center.org/video/performance/68284.
