Rice United Way Campaign over halfway to goal

The Rice United Way Campaign has raised $139,562 in pledges and contributions — more than half of the $250,000 campaign goal — in seven weeks.

The Rice Management Co. leads the campus with $13,817 raised. The Office of Public Affairs has the most donors, 36, which represents 100 percent participation.

As in previous years, Rice Board of Trustees Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82, an honorary chair of the campaign, is matching every dollar Rice employees contribute to the campaign above their 2018-19 pledge amounts. To date, employees have claimed $12,228 of the matching funds.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2019’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to benefit a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, Rice donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
