Flu shots, health screenings available this month

Just in time for flu season, Rice is offering benefits-eligible faculty and staff free flu shots and health screenings on campus in October.

Rice retirees are also eligible to receive a free flu shot. Non-benefits eligible faculty and staff and their spouses or domestic partners can get the flu shot for $36 by paying at the time of service.

flu shotNo appointment is needed to get the flu shot; just walk in to any of the flu shot or health screening events. Appointments are required for a health screening. Call 877-916-5940 or log in to https://riceuniversity.biovia.healthfitness.com (if this is your first visit to the HealthFitness website, use the “Set Up Account” button to register).

Times and locations for flu shots only are:

  • Oct. 23, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Cambridge Office Building, room 112.
  • Oct. 24, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Cambridge Office Building, room 112.
  • Oct. 24, 2:30-6:30 p.m., Duncan Hall, conference room 1044.
  • Nov. 9, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Anderson Clarke Center, room 112.

Health screenings and flu shots will be given:

  • Oct. 16, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Farnsworth Pavilion, Rice Memorial Center.
  • Oct. 17, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Grand Hall, Rice Memorial Center
    (wellness fair; walk-in flu shots available 11 a.m.–2 p.m.).
  • Oct. 18, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Farnsworth Pavilion, Rice Memorial Center.
