Audrey Moody Ley, the namesake of several places and facilities at Rice, died March 4. She was 103.

A 1935 Rice alumna who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, Ley and her husband, Rice alum Wendel Ley ’32, were longtime supporters of the university, as evidenced by the Ley Student Center, the Audrey Moody Ley Plaza, the Wendel D. Ley Track and the Wendel D. Ley Scoreboard at Reckling Park. Rice Athletics lauded Audrey Ley with an Honorary R Award in 2011.

A memorial service for Ley was held March 9 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
