Exhibits of student, instructor photography and art on view at Rice’s Glasscock School

The Glasscock School of Continuing Studies hosted a reception Feb. 22 to celebrate the opening of its 2018 student and instructor photography and art exhibits.

The student exhibit, “On Looking,” was juried by Ashlyn Davis, executive director of the Houston Center for Photography, and Lisa Volpe, associate curator of photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Located in the Anderson-Clarke Center’s Peter T. Brown Gallery on the first floor, the exhibit features the photography of 15 Glasscock School students: Patrick Appel, Vivian Arcidiacono, John Chaney, Tom Flaherty, Robert Flatt, Terri Golas, Rashed Haq, Carl Henry, Mary Kay Jennings, Sharon Joines, Geoffrey Koslov, Jory Pacht, Jonghun Park, Chris Roberts and Bob Schwartz. The exhibit is part of FotoFest’s 2018 Biennial of Contemporary Photographic and New Media Art.

The instructor exhibit, which is located on the second floor of the Anderson-Clarke Center, highlights the artwork of Glasscock School photography and studio art instructors Peter Brown, Tom Flaherty, Stanley Kaminski, Daniel Kramer, Ellen Orseck, Laura Spector and Robert Warren.

Both exhibits will be on display through the end of the year.
