Rice United Way Campaign enters final week

As the Rice United Way Campaign enters its final week, the $268,348 raised campuswide exceeds the $250,000 goal, and campaign leaders are optimistic that the final total will be even higher since pledges and donations will be accepted through Jan. 15.

Three campus divisions have hit 100 percent participation: Investments, Public Affairs and the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Facilities Engineering and Planning has the most overall donors — 144. With $29,944, the School of Social Sciences leads the campus in total dollars contributed.

All of the matching-gift funds from the offer by Rice Board of Trustees Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82 and his wife, Phoebe, have been claimed, which represents $25,000 in new and increased contributions over last year.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2018’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to benefit a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, Rice donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
