Rice’s Capuano has confirmation hearing for Department of Energy post

Linda Capuano, fellow in energy technology in the Center for Energy Studies at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, was in Washington, D.C., Dec. 5 for a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing. The committee was considering her nomination to be administrator of the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration. President Donald Trump nominated her to the post Nov. 2. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, who chairs the committee, emphasized Capuano’s qualifications in her opening statement: “Dr. Capuano’s broad experience in the energy and technology industries and robust work history make her well-qualified to be at the helm of the Energy Information Administration.” Capuano now awaits the full Senate’s confirmation vote.
