Rice United Way Campaign at 82 percent of goal

The Rice United Way Campaign has passed the $200,000 fundraising mark and is 82 percent of Rice’s $250,000 goal. Pledges and contributions are at $205,978.

Two campus divisions have hit 100 percent participation: Public Affairs and the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. The School of Social Sciences continues to lead campus with the most funds raised, $26,520. Facilities Engineering and Planning still leads with the largest number of donors, 119.

All of the matching-gift funds from the offer by Rice Board of Trustees Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82 and his wife, Phoebe, have been claimed, which represents $25,000 in new and increased contributions over last year.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2018’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to benefit a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, Rice donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
