Rice United Way Campaign approaching 2/3 of way to goal

In week 4 of the Rice United Way Campaign, the total number of donors more than doubled, and with $158,747 in pledges and contributions, Rice has reached nearly two-thirds of the $250,000 campaign goal.

The School of Social Sciences leads campus with the most funds raised, $22,936. Facilities Engineering and Planning leads with the largest number of donors — 118, more than a quarter of the campuswide total. And the Office of Public Affairs leads with the highest percent of participation, 62.9 percent.

All of the matching-gift funds from the offer by Rice Board of Trustees Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82 and his wife, Phoebe, have been claimed; this represents $25,000 in new and increased contributions over last year.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2018’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to benefit a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, Rice donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
