Rice United Way Campaign over 40 percent of goal

Board Chair Bobby Tudor offers dollar-for-dollar match

At the end of the third week of the 2018 Rice United Way Campaign, pledges and contributions are at $101,000 — just over 40 percent of the way to Rice’s $250,000 goal.

As in previous years, Rice Board of Trustee Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82, an honorary chair of the campaign, is matching every dollar that Rice employees contribute to the Rice United Way Campaign above their 2016-17 pledge amounts. To date, Rice employees have claimed $18,908 of the matching funds.

The School of Social Sciences is leading the campus with the most funds raised, $18,670. The Office of the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies leads the campus in participation at nearly two-thirds of the division contribution.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2018’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to the benefit of a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, campus donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
