José Aranda, associate professor of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies and of English, presented “Critical Translation: The Politics and Writings of Jorge Ainslie” as part of the panel Literatura recuperada (Auditorio de Comunicación y Periodismo) at the VII Jornada Internacional de Fronteras/Borderlands: Cultura e Historia Entre el Nuevo y el otro Oct. 5 in Monterrey, Mexico.

Esther Fernández, assistant professor of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies, presented “Hispanic Classical Theater at the Border” as part of the panel Hagiografías en movimiento (Biblioteca Cervantina) at the VII Jornada Internacional de Fronteras/Borderlands: Cultura e Historia Entre el Nuevo y el otro Oct. 5 in Monterrey, Mexico.

Rice’s Office of Public Affairs won MarCom Awards for two videos: “Take a Tour of Rice University” (platinum award) and “Be Unconventional at Rice University” (gold honors). The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes excellence in marketing and communication by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
