Rice University is ranked No. 14 — up from No. 20 last year — on Forbes’ list of 2017 best value colleges.

Forbes used data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard and PayScale’s salary database.

In Forbes’ ranking of best value schools by region, Rice is No. 3 in the South, bested only by the University of Florida and Duke University. Texas has the largest number of best value schools in the South — 13 — but Rice is the only Texas school in the region’s top 10.
