Doing good deeds

Members of the Rice community stopped by the Central Quad April 6 to perform good deeds as part of the Mitzvah Marathon. Participants pledged to make sandwiches for homeless, donate to the Refugee School Supply Drive, conserve energy, support peers, volunteer for America Reads or CanDo Houston, say a prayer, write a card to a patient, lay Tefillin, light Shabbat candles or do a random act of kindness. The event was presented by Chabad at Rice in collaboration with Rice’s Boniuk Institute for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance, Houston Hillel, the Program in Jewish Studies and the Rice University Joint Campus Ministers.
