Curl honored for 20th anniversary of Nobel Prize

Robert CurlDozens of faculty, staff and students gathered at Brockman Hall Oct. 21 for Nobel at 20, a celebration honoring Rice chemist Bob Curl ’54 for the 20th anniversary of the 1996 Nobel Prize in chemistry. Curl, the Kenneth S. Pitzer-Schlumberger Professor Emeritus of Natural Sciences, and the late Richard Smalley and Harold Kroto won the Nobel for their 1985 discovery at Rice of carbon-60, or buckyballs.
